CELL PHONE IMAGES

Some watch while others only sit and wait! This was at about the ninth inning of the last game of the 2011 season opener against the Giants at Dodgers Stadium. You can tell it's getting late - someone's getting sleepy! The Dodgers won this game and the series 3 games to 1!

Tweens

Does anyone ever wish they could be this young again? The drama of friends , the possibility of someone liking you , the scariness of jr. High school ? I ponder this question everytime I spend time on campus with my child.

Morning work

7am coc campus and; already the campus is busy the sun is waking up and so are the busy guys building our new addition to the library .

Let the phone wars begin.

Montana De Oro State Park, CA

I took these shot a few weeks ago at
Montana De Oro State Park near Morro Bay, CA.
These photographs were taken with a 15mm fisheye lens.

TAZ

This beautiful cloud reminded me of Tazmanian Devil cartoon, a fitting memory for the event I was at . A track practice with hundreds of kids running around as fast as they can as moms line the fence to watch their children.

7:20 ish AT VALENCIA HIGH SCHOOL

Day for Night

I am not pleased with my day for night image...it isn't in focus, the composition is boring, the subject matter is boring as well, it is almost (no actually it is) embarrassing to post it.
However it is said that if you learn from your mistakes they become lessons so this image is a representation of a lesson learned and I will do better next time - I really will :)

Playfull

I like ?

Twisted

Q. Night to day , Michele has always wondered ? How can i be in two different places?

A. Prolonged exposure to photography can make you feel like your in another time zone or in this case two places at once.

4.5 at ISO 800 for 1 min. Little PS

Not amazing but fun anyway.....

Night to Day

Teresa and I collaborated and were taking some night shots in a secluded park. A sheriff car stopped us as we were entering the park to see what we were doing. Apparently this park is a hot spot for teenagers to go and smoke pot. Teresa convinced them that we were harmless and they left us alone.

We had a great time playing on the equipment and taking some silly photos while we were attempting to turn night into day. I jumped up on some weird contraption that started spinning me around and I couldn't stop. Did I mention I hate spinning around. I was very dizzy! This photo was taken inside the playground equipment with the camera on the floor facing straight up. This was taken at 800 ISO at 119 seconds at 4.0.

class

Picture from today told wendy i would post it soo here

So I'm limited to where I can go shoot at night, because of reasons that don't need to be mentioned. So here are two terrible attempts at this night to day shoot... I went here because it was close and convenient to my situations. I want to try this out again, I'm really curious to the outcome, but clearly I need a better camera. Also, I need to resolve my personal conflicts before attempting what could turn out amazing.

Ed Ruscha

Although this is not directly related to the current "blog war", I thought you'd be interested in the article linked below.

I had not heard of Ed Ruscha until I read the article "Critics Notebook: Ed Ruscha's revolutionary moment in street photography" in the March 27, 2011 edition of the Los Angeles Times "Arts and Books" section - interesting information in regards to the evolution of landscape photography. "Ed Ruscha: On the Road" opens at the Hammer Museum on June 11, 2011 - too late for the museum report!

Filmore Steam

This is not a night to day shot but something interesting the wife and I did today. Engine #14 is a Baldwin 2-8-0 consolidated steam locomotive originally built for the Duluth & Northwestern RR in 1913. It was purchased in 1999 by Filmore & Western from the Dodge City RR in Dodge City, Kansas. Filmore & Western restored it and converted it to an oil burner from coal in 2010. We took a 40 minute ride on the train and I sure do love the sound of a steam locomotive and whistle. Wendy has turned me on to low angle shots and it sure is paying off.

So last night I was out doing a shoot t 2 am and when I got home I noticed that the moon was sitting right in front of my window so I pulled out the 5D and gave this one last shot. It was 30 degrees out and I didnt have a cable release so I shot from indoors. Not the best composition but Im happy with it.

Crisis

I photographed this because when I saw it it took my breath away . It reminded me that not everything that we perceive to be a crisis is one.

Maybe it's just something that requires a little attention instead .
