My Peaceful Spot
I love just sitting out here to unwind from a long stressful day. (when I am feeling ok)
I took this picture after 10pm @ f/36 2minutes. I had to push my ISO to 800 (I think) so it came out a little grainy but I still love this view.

One of the most amazing life experiences I have ever had was, walking through a rushing river and photographing the entire experience. While resting after this experience back at camp and because we had so much energy LOL Robin and I decided to try some night shooting. With a very swollen ankle and still frozen from the river we decide to stand in the middle of the road and stare up at the sky hoping we would not get run run over and succeed in creating a photo of the stars and sky. Of course Wendy being the biggest kid out of all of us decided to join in I think we should encourage her to post her images they are wonderful. Anyway I hope you enjoy what I came up with. Bulb and I think 125 ISO and 3,5 with a cable release I could be a little off we tried it some many different ways.
Camera Raw
I got home late tonight and the moon was high and bright above the house. Abbey was whining for me to tuck her in and Katie was running around like a naked maniac while her shower warmed up. Curtis would have appreciated my help, but the moon, and more importantly the moonlight, beckoned me to shoot. I swooped in grabbing the camera and the tripod before any one knew I was home.
The weather and air were perfect...spring is so close I can feel it. My spirits lifted. After a few shots I ditched the tripod - the wind was making the shot too unstable. Instead I laid the 7D on the side walk, pointing up to the sky. (BTW - Nick doesn't need to know that I put the camera on the ground- our secret.) I shot from the hip. The focus was on infinity. The ISO 400. The aperture f3.5. The shutter 30 secs...as long as I could go without the cable release. It was after 9 pm.
When I pulled the images up on the laptop I was disappointed. The colors weren't right. I started playing in RAW. Awe... there it is! Yes editing is allowed. I thought the before and after might be helpful.
So, one question... If I win blog wars, do I get to keep my own prize?
Sunrise at 10 pm??
This was taken at 10 pm with a 5D from school. 1600 ISO. 30 seconds. F 5.6
I think it looks like sunrise :)
The only editing in this is converting it to jpeg. I don't think for this blog wars we should be allowed to edit it. It should be all about the exposure in camera. But, I also don't like a lot of post-production editing anyway :P

Eerie stuff...
After trying the "daylight at night" approach in a couple of spots, I decided to post this one. It's a smidge blurry (my tripod is not the sturdiest of contraptions:-)), but I like how the water almost looks like glass. The image is posted straight out of the camera and shot at f3.5, 13 seconds with the ISO cranked up to 400. This was a fun assignment with some spooky results...
